There are PIRATES in Lehi!

Another story about going to the store, but this time it was at Costco and I wasn't there. Paul told me this story and I know that most of you that have children can relate. I don't know all the details. I just know what Paul told me, so if I get it wrong he can correct it. I thought it was too funny not to share. So, after all that here it is.

Paul, Noah, and Gabe went to Costco the other night when I was at a Young Women's activity. As they were walking into the store there was this really tall burly looking man with long, curly, scraggly looking hair and facial hair and walking next to him was a man of a round, larger stature that looked like someone you didn't want to mess with. As the mind of a 3 year old works he just blurts out things as they come to mind. He looked at the man and shouted with all his excitement,"Look dad, a PIRATE!" I think Paul was a little beyond embarrassment and rushed into the store hushing Noah as he was wishing the "Pirate" didn't hear that he was being singled out of a crowd. I really wish that I was there to witness the whole thing. You can't do much when things like that happen. I usually just laugh and give the excuse that he is just an innocent child.Another story, on a more serious note, that I wanted to share about Noah is when he was avoiding going to bed, what child doesn't, the other night and wanted to cuddle with his daddy. I was rocking Gabe and singing "I am a Child of God" and Noah said that it was his favorite song. Well I got up to put Gabe in bed and Paul asked Noah why that was his fav. song and Noah said it was because he wanted to get baptized. Paul's interest was peeked and continued by asking why he wanted to get baptized and Noah with eyes big and bright said, " because Jesus did." It just makes my heart melt when I hear the sweet things that he says. His sweet little spirit is growing and he is learning and taking in so much about the gospel. It makes me feel so good to know that he is understanding the gospel at such a small age.

Okay, onto Gabe. This morning we went to church a little earlier than usual to get a place to sit near the front. We were giving the talks in Sacrament Meeting and couldn't sit on stand because of the boys. We sat on the second row on the left side thinking that no one would be crazy enough to sit on the very front. Well some one was and sat there they did. It was a family with 2 boys and a little girl. The younger of the 2 boys looked like he was about 4 or 5. As he came in to sit down he kept burping. Yes, you read right, BURPING. Eeewwww!! I know. (I just have to preface that I don't mind if you burp, but there is a place and a time and you MUST excuse yourself.) Just had to get that out of the way. So he did it like 5-6 times as he was getting settled in his seat. Well I make sure that my boys know the rules and as this boy was turning around to look our way and burp Gabe looked up at him and said, "Excuse you!" I wanted to high five him and shout for joy. It was so funny. My 2 year old has learned the lesson of good manners. Let's just hope it stays that way.
