Colbie Caillat

Back in December Paul purchased Colbie Caillat tickets for Dec. 19 as an early Christmas present. We were so excited to go and the day of the concert she had to cancel because she was sick. We found out later that the concert had been postponed to Feb. 15. It just happened to fall right in the middle of the huge annual Noni Convention that Sound Concepts goes to each year and Paul was an important asset to this trip. I was so bummed that he wasn't going to get to go with me. So my mom came to watch the boys and my little sister and I went to the concert. We didn't start off very well that night. Earlier that day I had gone to the store and as I was putting Gabe in the car his light got turned on. I didn't realize this and so later that night when we went to go to the concert our battery was dead. So luckily we were able to take my mom's car. We got to SLC and couldn't find the place where the concert was. (Neither one of us had ever been to In The Venue.) So we found out that the address was just down the street from the Gateway. So we parked there and walked about 2 blocks. On our way we met 2 girls that were looking for the same place. We felt better knowing that we weren't the only ones that were lost.

We finally got in about 7:30 pm and there was a band Trevor Hall playing. He wasn't bad. Around 8:15 pm Colbie Caillat finally came out. Just so you know if you ever have to go to a concert at In The Venue just know that you will be standing the whole time, it is a pretty small place, and you won't be able to see very well unless you get there super early. It was awesome to hear her in person, but I didn't feel like I really got my money's worth. It was fun to hang with Lisa though. Thanks Lis for going with me. The concert ended around 9:15 pm and I was actually a little glad to be heading home. (I've decided that after that experience I am officially getting old.) I am glad that I went, but next time I think I'll just sit that one out. Thanks for the tickets Paul. I love you.
