Itty Bitty Ball and Gabe's Birthday

This is Noah kicking the ball into the goal practicing soccer. I think this was one of his favorites because today on the last day he asked me if he was going to get to play soccer. Then when he did, he just stood in the middle and watched everyone running around him. He'll get it someday.

Here he is attempting to be goalie. Yes, it went right past him. Unfortunately the goal posts were small enough for all the kids to lean on and that is exactly what most of them did when it was their turn to be goalie. It was funny and really cute to watch.

Sorry that these pictures are so fuzzy, but I was clear across the court taking the picture. If you look close you can barely see that the ball is just entering the basket and going through the net.

He made almost every shot. His teacher was impressed. (We have the same basketball hoop here at home.) He has had some practice. He had so much fun. Today was the last day and he played basketball, football, soccer, duck, duck, goose, and they brought out one of those huge parachutes to play with. When we get our scanner working I'll post his Itty-Bitty Ball photos that he took. He is all sorts of grown up.

My baby Gabe is 2. I can't believe it. Even though his Birthday was on the 18th we had a party for him on the 16th with my family. It was fun. He had fun opening clothes from Grandma Garber, Grandma-Great Merrill, and Aunt Lisa. He opened one smaller tractor from Noah and one larger from us (mom and dad). That was the tractor of the night. Both boys wanted to play with it and it was a bit of a problem, but they are over it now and it is a thing of the past. That tractor is so 5 days ago. Why is it that a toy is so exciting when you get it and then about 3-4 days later it just goes on top of the pile like every other toy in the closet. Yet, we still buy them toys to play with. Some day we will buy a toy that will be played with forever. We will hit the jackpot and they will never ask for another toy ever. (I wish.) Oh well, that's just the way it goes.

Here is the cake. Okay, so it is not in the shape of a football, but I didn't want to have to cut it and get crumbs all in the icing. If you have ever iced a cake you all know how that goes. So my cake decorating expertise (which isn't much) came out and it turned out okay. My Grandma thought it was something off of a Pirate ship. Hmm, don't see it. It always looks better in my head before I start the project. Does that happen to anyone else? Or am I the only one?

Here is Gabe mesmerized by the candles. He loves candles. He calls them "birthdays". Hmm, go figure. That is usually when he sees them.

Here he is blowing them out. He liked it so much that we lit them again and he blew them out again one at a time. What a cutie.

Here he is opening the first tractor. He didn't tear into the paper like I thought he would. He needed a little help, but was so excited to see what was inside.
Here he is playing with the bigger of the 2 tractors. You can push some buttons on the top and it makes tractor noises. (It also comes with a mute button.) There is one that plays music and every time he pushed it he would wiggle and dance. He sat there and did it over and over again. He cracks me up.

He is really getting into doing things by himself. When he realizes he can't he then asks for help. I have a hard time letting them try with certain things, but I am getting better at letting him figure stuff out. I can't believe how big he is and how fast time flies when you have 2 busy little boys that love life.

Happy Birthday Gage! What is it with little kids and their toys, our are the same way. I thought the cake looked just like a football, so good work!

Fun pictures. Jefferson did Itty Bitty Soccer when he was 4. I'm totally with you on the frosting the cake and crumbs bit. It still looked like a football, though, especially from the angle you took the pic at! I would have 3 boys fighting over a cool tractor like Gabe got.

Holy Moly Gabe looks so old! I didn't realize he was so old. Your boys are so cute. My girls can date them when they are older for sure!

His cake was darling! I mean really manly and footballish! I never even attempt anything but a cake, and even that sometimes doesn't work. Hmm.
