Today was Noah's first day at Itty Bitty ball. It felt like we were at one ginormous sunbeam class, but all boys. He had so much fun learning and playing baseball. He is on team Spiderman.
His instructors name is Janette. They rotate between 6 stations learning how to play the game such as learning the basics and team work, running bases, catching the ball, throwing the ball, hitting the ball off a tee, and then from a string. The last 5-10 minutes of the game they get to play against another team. It is so funny to watch. Noah had never played before and so he didn't really know what he was doing. He hit the ball backwards off the tee and ran straight to 2nd base. The kid on 1st just stood there looking around. After everyone was done Noah ended up on 3rd and all the kids went in to talk to Janette and there stood Noah all alone on the base waiting for someone to tell him to run. It was fun to watch him play and interact. I am so glad that he has something like this to do with kids his own age. On Thursday he gets to play basketball and get pictures taken. In the next couple of weeks he will also get to learn soccer, volleyball, and football. At the end of the 3 weeks is game day. I am looking forward to seeing how he does.
Gabe was very anxious to get out there and run with them. He did not enjoy sitting on the side lines with me. He wanted to play. Next year he'll get his chance. On a side note I saw someone that I knew from my freshman year at SUU. It was so strange since I haven't talked to her since then. We used to be astronomy buddies and go the observatory in the freezing cold with all the other students. I can't believe she remembered my name. It's a small world after all.
