...but it's BRAND NEW!!!

Yesterday Paul calls me and says, "I have some good news and I have some bad news. Which do you want first?" I think I already knew what he was going to say, but wanted to hear it anyway. He said, "the hard drive is fixed, but nothing is recoverable. They tried twice to get it off and nothing happened."

Let me back up a little bit. In October Paul and I decided that I needed a Macbook. It would allow us to ichat while he was on his trips and it would be easier to take it around the house to keep a closer eye on the boys. I have loved this thing from the moment I got it. We put all pictures and music and everything on my computer because Paul's is mostly for work and our Dell desktop is just too slow (and stationary). We have been talking about putting everything on an external hard drive for a while "just in case" something were to happen. Well that "just in case" moment came on Monday when I tried to restart my computer and nothing happened. Paul said those unwanted words of, "I think your hard drive is fried." Ahhhhh!! Was it something I did? Oh no!! I was so sad. So Paul took it to Mac Doc (sp?) and they were able to fix the hard drive, but all the pictures from the last 7-8 months are gone. All my music from itunes, gone. I have to start all over from scratch. Oh well. I was just happy to get my little computer back. Poor little guy. (Okay, so I am a bit attached.) Let's all have a moment of silence for the sad hard drive that had to go away (good thing we have applecare). Okay, now a shout of hooray for having the little computer back.

That's sooo sad! I need to go back up all my stuff...thanks for the true life story to get me moving!?! I'd be so sad if I were you. What a bummer. It seems that you've taken it rather well :-)

Oh that makes me sick to think about it. I would go crazy. Just think you have a few pics linked to your blog, not all is lost right?

What a bummer! I'm so sorry about that. I think I'm going to take the time to transfer all of my pictures to a disk right now. Just in case.... =)

Oh how sad, I would cry if I lost our pictures. I am going to have Rob back them up tonight, as I have no idea how! :) Such a girl, I know!
