Getting here...DC
We arrived in DC Friday afternoon around 4 o'clock. Carson did great on the flight. He fussed just a little bit, but that was because he wanted to take a nap in his bed instead of mom's arms. It was nice to fly in FIRST CLASS non-stop. We watched a movie and ate lunch. What service!! It makes me never want to fly coach again, but I'm sure I will.
After getting off the plane and collecting our luggage we hopped on the Metro (like the subway) and went to the Ritz Carlton. We went to check in and they couldn't find our reservation. "Oh Great!!" I thought. We found out that we went to the wrong one and there is another one in DC. So we got back on the metro and went a little further to Foggy Bottom. Got off there and walked to the OTHER Ritz Carlton and WHEW! it was the right one. We checked in and got all settled and what was that smell? Yuck!! Someone was smoking in a NON-SMOKING hotel and it was coming in through our bathroom. It was overwhelmingly stinking. So, we told the front desk and they immediately apologized and moved us from the 6th floor to the 9th floor in basically that same room. It really wasn't a big deal to move, but it smells much better up here.
That night we went out to eat at Fudruckers and walked a few blocks down to the white house.
After that we came back to the room and relaxed. It was quite the day.
