Let's analyze this for a second...
I was eating a sandwich the other day and noticed that I always start with a bite out of the right half of the sandwich. (Now you're going to think about it next time you eat a sandwich, aren't you!!) I thought this was interesting. I know, I over analyze EVERYTHING and I mean everything. Ask Paul, he will tell that this very true. I couldn't help over analyzing this particular thing and it got me thinking about other little quirky things that I do (and there are a lot). For example:
- I like my clothes and towels folded in a certain way. If they aren't I will usually fold them again. (this one I am working on because the boys LOVE to fold clothes with me, so I have to leave it the way they do it.)
- I load the dishwasher the same way almost 90% of the time. I know how the dishes fit, so that is how I like it. When I go to other people's house and help them out with the dishes I am surprised when I ask if there is a certain way and they tell that any old way the dishes is just fine.
- The pillows on my bed have to be in the same arrangement every time the bed is made.
- Have you ever noticed that when you go visiting teaching or when you have visiting teachers over you all sit in the same spot every time?
- When putting cookies on the cooling rack if there is an empty spot in the middle I have to move one from the side and fill the spot. (I know, a little crazy!)Okay, so I don't think that I am bad enough to be officially diagnosed with OCD just yet, but I like things to be in order. Not just in order, but the way I like them. I do give in to a couple of things, but not much. Let's just say that I am 10 times better than I was in high school. College roommates and mission companions can have quite the positive impact with helping someone over come perfectionism.

Well, you are certainly a girl of mine!!!! The towels have to be folded a certain way and arranged by colors on the shelf. Medicine cabinet arranged from top to bottom and left to right with exactly what I do everyday to get ready for the day. Don't skip a step!!! The dishwasher has to be loaded a certain way and I always do the dishes the same way each time. Over analyze and want to know how and why - I am the master!!!! Sometimes I think it is organization and sometimes it is just nuts!! scrub tops on black hangers and scrub pants on white!! OK.
Oh, and have you noticed that Americans always pass each other on the right side of the hallway or sidewalk. Well, guess what, in Britain(and I have it from a Brit), they pass each other on the left side of the hall or sidewalk. A good thing to know the next time you are in England!
