Fishing in Alaska

Wow! What a trip. Alaska is light right now 20 out of 24 hours every day! It is kinda weiding out my system. Every morning we get a 4:15 am (which I didn't even know existed) wake up call and head over for breakfast. By 5:00 everyone is off doing one of the following:
  1. Down at Seward (Resurrection Bay)- Fishing for Halibut or Silver Salmon
  2. On the Kenai fishing for either Rainbow Trout (Avg. size 10lbs!!) or Sockeye Salmon (Avg size 8-12lbs! - I just got three of those bad boys today alone see the picture)
  3. Over at Anchor - Flyfishing for Dollie Vardens
  4. Bear Camp - were the last group that came in said they saw upwards of 30 brown bears
  5. Kenai Fjords - To see the large Alaskan Glaciers
  6. Or you can fish for King Salmon, Lean Cod, and much, much more!!!
Then it is back to the lodge by about 4-5pm and happy hour starts at 7 followed by a late dinner at 8pm. Then it is to the beach to try and snag some Sockeye Salmon (literally you don't use bait you try to just snag 'um out of the river. Little tricky but once you get the hang of it, it is pretty cool! You do this until about 11:30 - 12:00 Midnight! Then you guessed...up again at 4am. Needless to say, I am a little exhausted!

The connection here in the lodge is a little slow so I haven't posted a ton of pictures, but I will post some more when I get a faster line. You all know I am not much of a fisher, but I'll be honest I had a lot of fun. (I could have done with 6am wakeup call rather than a 4am one though). Besides the fun fishing we were able to accomplish a lot with our clients as well so it turned out to be a worthwhile trip, and sounds like I will be coming back next year for the "3rd Annual Alaska Fishing Trip!"

Paul - I am so impressed that you actually got up! To go "fishing" none the less! Great pictures! It will be fun to hear all the stories that go with it in person! Thanks for the 'real time' sharing!

I gotta say Paul that fishing suits you. You look hot holding that fish and I'm not much a fish lover. I wish I could've been there with you. It will be nice to have you home. Again, you are one big HOTTY!!

Love you.
