This was definitely one trip that we will all remember, but not necessarily because we want to. For the most part it was fun, but then there was those parts that we will choose to try to forget.
We arrived in St. George on Wed. and got settled in. The next day we ventured out to some of the parks that we heard were really fun. We went to this place called Pioneer Park. It was really windy and in the low 70's, but we still were excited to go. As we climbed the rocks and enjoyed nature we were really glad that we went. The boys had a great time and loved being able to go outside and play. After that we ate lunch and went to a playground and played with the boys on the swings and jungle gym (is that still what they are called?). After that we were tuckered out and went home for naps. After that Dave, Andrea, and Blake came to stay for a couple of days. To top off the day Paul took the boys swimming and we ate homemade tacos. Yum!! That night is when the real excitement began.
Around 4 am Gabe woke up crying, but I was able to calm him down. Around 4:30 am just as I was starting to fall asleep we were awoken by a crying Noah and sounds of throwing up. (the sound that every parent dreads when a child is sleeping. No one likes to clean up throw up in a bed.) Luckily Paul was able to get in the bathroom fast enough and we didn't have to clean up the bed. For the next 5 hours Noah was throwing up about every 20 minutes. It was so awful. We felt so bad for him. All day Friday he was sick and couldn't keep anything down. We just hung out in the condo all day and took care of him. Finally in the evening he was able to eat something and not lose it. He threw up once that night and then woke up the next day feeling lots better. We went swimming and ate lunch and then Dave and Andrea had to go home. We decided to go to the new In-n-Out Burger in St. George that just opened for dinner.

Like I said, we had a lot of fun, but there are some things that we would rather forget. I don't think we will ever feel the same about the "Condo in St. George" again. Hopefully when we go back we will have a much healthier and better time.

There are few things worse than having sick kids and not being at your own house!
Oh I feel for you! That's the worst! I bet it was a virus, when I was pregnant with Ashlynn we had it go through our entire extended family and it always lasted only 12 hours and during the 12 hours you would rather be dead!!!
That does not sound like fun. :( But WOOT! on going to In and Out! I can't wait to get down there and get me some.
I'm sooo sorry for you! I hate throwing up and having the kids throw up! At least you got one good day in.
I'm glad you had a l little bit of fun! The other part you'll just have to forget. Although of course that's probably what you'll remember!
Sounds like over all, you had a fun trip! I am a little envious, I would love for my little family to get out for a little vacation. I'm sorry to hear about the sickness, we just went through the same thing. It was awful!!!
That is so aweful to have sick kids on vacation, but atleast you weren't in a hotel. Glad you are back safely. Email me your email address so I can send you the recipe for that dessert.
Awww, sick kids on vacation is the worst! I'm sorry things didn't go quite as planned. It sounds like you deserve another vacation after that one!
The Barf-o-rama vacation!!!! Those must be a tradition in the Merrill/Garber/Hirschi family!! Cute picutures. I love their little bottles. mom
So sorry about the sick vaca. I bet it was just a virus you all had. It is the worse when everyone gets it. Oh well. At least you got to play in the warm weather. I understand the feeling of wanting to be in your own bed. I have been wanting it for 7 months now. But we are closer than ever. say hi to all. Oh hey guess what. I'm sure you already know but your mom found Grace in the MTC. Grace told us when she wrote home :)
Oh how yucky, that is no way to spend a vacation. I hope you can take another more fun trip soon.
