Welcome to the world baby Carson...

Carson has finally decided to join our little family. We are so grateful that he is here and he has such a sweet and special spirit. We are so glad to be able to hold him and cuddle him.

I don't know if you want all the fun details, but I'm going to write them down so that I can remember.

Monday night we were more than ready for this baby to come. We had heard that maternity acupressure had done the trick for some people and thought that we would give it a try. An hour later we went to bed crossing our fingers around 12:30 am. At 2 am I rolled over and toyed with the thought of getting up to use the restroom when I felt my water break. Being 9 months pregnant I thought maybe I had wet my pants, but then new it wasn't that. I don't think a 9 month pregnant woman has ever moved as fast as I did to get up out of bed to make it to the bathroom. I woke Paul up and told him what had happened and we called the hospital to see if we should come in or wait till my contractions started. (I wasn't contracting AT ALL. It was weird.) We called someone to come stay with the boys and about 35 minutes later the contractions started to come about 5 minutes apart. My dad come over and around 3:15 am we were on our way to the hospital. I was put in a room to be monitored and was already dilated to 5 cm. They admitted me to the hospital and it was relieving to know that I wasn't leaving the hospital without my new baby.

They hooked my up to all the "stuff" (IV, epidural, antibiotic for strep, monitors, etc.) and then we just waited and contracted. Around 7:10 the doctor came in and said, "let's get this baby out. I have a tonsillectomy at 7:30." Needless to say that came first and he came back around 7:50. We did our work and 15 minutes later Carson Paul Hirschi was born at 8:07 am, weighing 8 lbs 3 oz 20 1/2 inches long. It really is a miracle to bring one of Heavenly Father's precious children into this world.

Congrats guys! I am so glad that everything went well... It's funny you mention acupressure to induce labor - I was reading about it all night last night and might give it a go tonight. Wish me luck :)
He is gorgeous and makes me even more anxious for our little girl to arrive.

Congratulations! What a cutie. I can't tell who he looks like more. You'll have to teach me your acupressure tricks when it gets a little closer to May! :)
